I doubt there is a piece of Tibi clothing that I would not wear. I look forward to seeing their new collection online at fashion week twice a year and constantly stalk the site for new arrivals. When shopping at Tibi I know I can expect classic pieces with unique details like this tie-sleeve dress.

I am a creature of habit. I tend to wear the same beauty products over and over again. Very rarely do I stray from my favorites, but every once in a while it is fun to try something. This is wear I find myself. I parted ways with a few of my beauty favorites this month (Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner, Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, Essie Chinchilly Nailpolish, and First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser) in order to try something new.

Every fall Whole Foods serves a triple squash soup that I am obsessed with. I have tried to recreate it at home several times, but I can never get the ratios correct. So this year I did away with the idea of a triple squash soup and added one of my favorite spices, turmeric.

When it comest to denim I usually stick to classic styles, but every once in a while it is fun to add a new piece to your wardrobe. Last week I wore these jeans in a post and I absolutely love them. The frayed edge is a great way to add a little spunk to any outfit. Another detail about them that I love is how easy they are to alter. At only 5"3 all of my bottoms need to be hemmed, but with these all I need are a pair of scissors and a steady hand. Snip away and pull out of a few loose edges and you are ready to go. Shop 10 of my picks for frayed denim below.

Besides the days getting shorter it is hard to tell that there is a seasonal shift taking place in Charleston. After three years in Charlottesville, where fall is bold and beautiful, this change is taking a little adjustment. Every day this week has been in the 80's and the cruise ships constantly flood the streets with tourists wearing shorts and sandals. My husband and I have been embracing this new season and new city by taking evening strolls and eating outside whenever possible (patio season!).

I have an unusual relationship with football. Before attending Ole Miss my experience and knowledge of football was slim. I did not grow up watching football on Sunday afternoons and my parents both went to schools without football programs. So, I immediately latched on to the one are of football that connected with me: tailgating.

We've talked about velvet and mules, but another emerging trend I am excited to see are ruffles. They are a breath of fresh air to a season of typically heavy attire. My favorite style right now is the ruffled collar. It automatically adds a bit of sophistication to any outfit. I love the idea of pairing them with straight leg jeans and a block heel for a more casual look. This striped top is one of my favorites due to the smaller ruffle detail and it is only $25. Scroll through the tops below to see the best ruffled collar blouses available.

A midseason sale is hard to resist. It is a great way to pick up pieces that are currently in style without breaking your budget. So, when I saw that Shopbop launch their recent sale I was pretty excited. I have my eye on a few wardrobe updates for fall, like these tassel loafers and this flute sleeve top. But, this is also a great time to invest in more timeless pieces like a pair of over the knee boots. The Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots I am wearing in this post are currently sold out, but there are still a ton of great options available. See the rest of my favorite 25 items available during this sale below and get to shopping!

Just like coming up with something interesting for dinner can be hard during this time of year, so can getting dressed in the morning. Living in Charleston restricts the amount of layering you can do, and even though I do not follow the typical rules about what you shouldn't wear after labor day wearing a summer dress just doesn't feel right in October.

This is a trend that instills a small amount of fear in me. I have flashback to the crimson velvet button-up I wore in elementary school, or possibly worse the velvet legging fad of the 90's. I keep thinking of how many ways this could go wrong, but I am still ready to try this luxurious style out for myself. When it comes to a dominating fabric or print I believe it is best to keep it simple. Only wear it in one piece, like this velvet bomber jacket. I am particularly found of velvet shoes this season. They add an unexpected twist that look both sophisticated and playful. I love block heel sandal that is under $125. Shop my 20 velvet picks below and let me know what you think of this growing trend.
