With moving, apartment renovations, my husband taking the bar, and planning for three weeks abroad something had to give. Unfortunately, this site ended up taking a hit. If you're still following along - thank you!The last few months have been both hectic and inspiring. Will and I spent the majority of August traveling through France and Spain. This is a trip we've been planning for years, and finally being able to experience this area was amazing. Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing images from our trip. I'm going to start with my favorite destination, Seville.
People warned not to visit Seville in August because of the heat. We knew going in that this city was going to be hot (it routinely gets above 100 degrees), but being from the south we could handle it. Honestly, it was not that bad. As long as you stayed in the shade and wore lightweight clothing it was manageable. Plus all the restaurants and shops closed in the afternoon, which meant we usually took our siesta during the hottest hours of the day
Seville is a an ancient city. One of the tapas bars we went to had been open since 1670. Our hotel was in the medieval quarter, which was great because the streets were narrow and quiet and every turn meant another gorgeous building or quaint alleyway. It also meant we were a stones throw from some great tapas, a wonderful old sherry bar (sherry comes from less than an hour from Seville), the gigantic Seville Cathedral, and the Alcazar, Seville's royal palace. I'll be posting more pictures from the Alcazar soon because it is stunning.
Again, my apologies for neglecting the blog over the past month. We're finally moving into our apartment in Charleston next week, so get ready for lots of Europe pictures in the coming weeks.
