I'm always a little apprehensive towards new shoes. I have extremely small feet, so it can be hard to find a pair that actually fits. So, shoe shopping can be a hassle. I usually just end up ordering online and hoping they work out. But, the new midi heel has me feeling hopeful. A little dressier than flat sandals, but more comfortable to all day wear, I'm looking to invest in a pair for this summer. Sandals normally end up being easy for me to wear since you can adjust the straps. I am particularly found of pair ONE. Now I just need them to go on sale...

Do I have a chambray obsession? Yes, yes I do. We snapped these photos a few weeks back while at the farmer's market. It was kind of a dreary Saturday, but venturing outside for a little while made it all the better. A chambray dress was perfect for the occasion. Light and easy to wear, you can throw them on for a casual day, or dress them up with heels and maybe a belt. I thinking of trying it with a strappy pair of sandals this weekend. How would you accessorize a chambray dress?

It is amazing to think of how much my life has changed in the last few weeks. Almost two weeks ago was my wedding day. It truly was the best day of my life. Everything was perfect, everything was beautiful. If I could relive the day, I would. After a honeymoon in Jamaica we are now back home. You can look forward to normal posting, I promise I did not mean to take that long of an extended vacation!

Sweater: Jcrew // Skirt: Jcrew // Bag: Kate Spade // Shoes: Jcrew // Necklace: Jcrew // Sunglasses: Karen Walker
Until recently, I never thought I could wear yellow. I felt that it clashed with my blonde hair and fair skin. I've learned that it is lighter shades of yellow that I need to stay away from, but vibrant lemon shades actually enhances my fair coloring. I doubt I will ever be a true yellow fan, but I can handle a few yellow pieces in my wardrobe, especially for warm spring days.

Wedding week is here! So excuse me if my postings are a little sporadic over the following few days. I really cannot believe the wedding is so close. I've spent the last nine months planning and awaiting this week so it feels a little surreal. I am going to try to stick to my normal routine to keep my sanity, but we will see how long that lasts.
My succulent is loving the warm sunlight // Homemade cinnamon rolls

I cannot get enough of bold florals this season. From dresses to skirts, I want them all, and I think they look especially pretty on one piece swim suits. They are great for a day at the pool or beach, plus you can throw a skirt on and be presentable in public. What is not to love about that?

I saw this dress online last fall and I knew I had to have it. So, when J.Crew Factory put it on sale last December I made a very early purchase for our honeymoon. I had planned on saving it until then, but I have not self control when it comes to dresses. I wore this out to dinner with friends the other night, and I still plan on wearing in Jamaica. The bright florals just seem so caribbean to me. What do you think?

Bread Knife // Chef's Knife // Pairing Knife // Dutch Oven // Measuring Cups // Skillets // Cutting Board // Food Processor // Spatula // Whisk // Wooden Spoon // Loaf Pan // Stand Mixer // Roaster // Pasta Fork
The Wedding Registry. It is you and your fiancee's chance to put all your home related must haves on one giant wish list. Nowadays, that can be anything from a dutch oven to new TV. Over the next few weeks I will be highlighting some of my wedding registry must haves. This week I'm talking kitchen gadgets. I feel like this is the most useful category, and best place to splurge for dream items. Think about what you need as a couple, if you already have nice pots and pans registering electrics and gadgets may be a better choice. A few staples for my kitchen are: a Chef's Knife, Dutch Oven, Measuring Cups, Skillets, a Spatula, and a Whisk. With these items you can make almost any meal. I added on a few bigger items like a nice Bread Knife, Cutting Board, and Stand Mixer to my registry to round things out. Honestly, it all depends on your needs as a couple. Spend some time to sit down and talk about it before you hit the shops.

I know the Kentucky Derby was last weekend, but I think you can drink Mint Julep's all month long in honor of the big race. Will and I bought a mint plant a few weeks ago, and it has completely taken over our mint garden. So what did we do with all that mint, we made Mint Julep's! I'm not the biggest bourbon fan, but these are still pretty tasty on a nice spring day.
2 sprigs of mint
2 ounces of bourbon
1/2 simple syrup
Crush ice in food processor until it resembles shaved ice. Gently muddle the leaves from one sprig of mint, in the bottom of a lowball glass. Pack glass with ice. Pour bourbon over ice. Stir to mix. Top with simple syrup. The simple syrup can be adjusted to taste, depending on how sweet you like it.

A comfy chambray shirt is on my list of must haves. You can wear it every season dressing it up with a pair of black pants or down with a casual skirt. It is a piece that you will find uses for over and over again. I decided to take a more monochromatic approach the other day by pairing mine jeans. The look is cool without being overdone, and by mixing light and dark denim you avoid looking like you are wearing a denim jumpsuit. I paired this look with patent wedges, a woven clutch, and a bright look to keep it from being too masculine. And, I would wear it again.

A good beach hat is necessary for a beach trip, and I still have not found one for our honeymoon. I know wearing it on the plane will be a pain, but I feel I need one to protect myself from the sun. I'm still in the air over wether to get a panama hat or a sun hat. Which would you choose?

Makeup Bag: Kate Spade // Powder: Make Up For Ever // Blush: Bobbi Brown // Lipstick: Nars Foundation: Bobbi Brown // Mascara: L'Oreal
Getting married is an excuse to become very vain. You diet, exercise, search for the perfect hair color, and spend a lot of time at Sephora. In the last few months I feel that I have perfected my wedding makeup routine. You want to look timeless, but you also want your makeup to stay, and I have found the perfect products. It all starts with good foundation, and I really like the Bobbi Brown Foundation stick. It has great coverage and goes on smoothly. I have also started using Bobbi Brown blush and I have really enjoyed it. It comes in a variety of colors, and has minimal to no shimmer. For powder, you cannot beat Make Up For Ever HD. It gives you that airbrushed look, and helps your foundation stay. Waterproof mascara is a must, and I am sticking to my favorite from L'Oreal. This gives you major lashes. And finally, lips. I am a lipstick junkie. So, Nars ranks high on my list. What are your favorite long-wear beauty buys?
